President Kim Il Sung met Lavarello again in April 1986 together with other Peruvian figures visiting the DPRK.
Though he was busy on that day, he gave a dinner in honour of them.
While having a talk with them on the occasion, President asked them where Madame Checa lived.
Told she was living in Peru, he recalled that Checa had been an excellent internationalist fighter and praised him highly that Checa had made many exploits in his lifetime for the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Peru and for peace and against war.
Then the President requested them to tell his regards to her and her family after returning home recalling his meeting her and her children when they visited the DPRK.
Lavarello felt a great admiration for his high humanity.
In fact, Checa had been his most intimate and oldest friend and shared many hardships with him.
However, after demise of Checa, he hadn’t been concerned for them before, and now President Kim Il Sung was recalling even after a long since his death.
