Denmark-DPRK Friendship Society

The Denmark-DPRK Friendship Society was formed on October 10, 1968 with the aim of deepening the friendly sentiments between the two peoples and developing the friendly relations between the two countries with active introduction activities about the DPRK among the Danish people.

The society initiated itself with the name of “Denmark-Korea Friendship and Cultural Association” with its membership of 50, but increased to 400 when it was renamed to the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Society in 1972.

Two years after the initiation, the society published 2 000 copies of the works of President Kim Il Sung in Danish version to disseminate and then organized DPRK’s books, photos and handicraft exhibitions and performed many other activities for giving a deep understanding on the DPRK among the Danish people. It also fortified itself by forming its branches in many areas of Denmark.

Today the society is actively carrying on various political and cultural events and solidarity movements including commemorative meetings and film shows to make wide publicity to the efforts of the Korean people for the independent and peaceful reunification and their successes in the construction of the socialist economy, thus sincerely supporting and encouraging the just struggle of the Korean people and actively contributing to deepening of the friendly ties between the two peoples.
