Unusual Souvenir Photograph
At the night of August 22, 2015 an unheard-of storm and flood stroke the Rason City at the northern tip of the DPRK.
Having been briefed on the result of the disaster in Rason City, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un emphasized to settle down the life of the flood victims driven in the open as soon as possible and accelerate the housing construction before the cold season so that the flood victims move into the new houses before the 70th anniversary of the founding of Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK, October 10).
Then on August 27 he put forth the reconstruction of the Rason disaster area as an important agenda and took special measures in the enlarged meeting of the Central Military Commission of the WPK.
He found himself in the then Paekhak-dong of Sonbong region, Rason City changed magnificently in a short period of less than 30 days from then to express his satisfaction and gave appreciation to all the units of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) under reconstruction in the name of the WPK.
That day, saying that his heart warmed when he thought over the exploits of the people’s army men shown in the reconstruction campaign and he felt a strong desire to make a boast of them and so he thought to have a photograph taken with them for souvenir before leaving, he waited one and a half hours in the open till all the army men gather.
Thus an unusual scene was unfolded that the army men surrounding their Supreme Commander in smile and in tears with pleasure have a photograph taken for souvenir with the dwelling houses they had built for a background.
