18th Grand Bull Prize Ssirum Contest Held
The 18th Grand Bull Prize Ssirum Contest took place on September 1 and 2 at the National Ssirum Contest Place on Rungna Islet (an islet in the middle of the Taedong River flowing down through Pyongyang).
13 players selected from all provinces (municipalities) decided on the placing through catch-weight event. The place was crowded with spectators to see the Korean wrestling, the pride of the Korean nation.
Song Chol Min from Pyongyang won the top honor. Choe Wi Song from Kangwon Province and Kang Song Gun from Jagang Province finished the second and third respectively.
At the end of the contest trophy cup, diploma and medal were awarded to the players who proved successful at the contest.
