One day in January 2014 the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made rounds of a newly built refrigerating facility for seafoods.

That day he looked around the modern facilities needed for seafoods storage and processing. He said he came here to have discussions about capacity to supply fish to baby homes, orphanages, primary and middle schools for orphans and old people’s homes across the country. He acquainted himself with the yearly quantity based on the daily supply of 300 grams of fish.

And then he issued an order of the Supreme Commander to organize a fishing station in charge of the supply of fish to baby homes, orphanages, primary and middle schools for orphans and old people’s homes across the country.

Noting that the fishing station should be built on the highest level so that it might be a model, he chose station lot as well as units in charge of design and construction and took steps for the supply of materials and equipment, selection of fishermen, fishing vessels and fishing-tackle.

A few months later, the January 8 Fishery Station was newly built for orphans of baby homes and orphanages on the occasion of the Day of the Sun (April 15).
