Stone lion at Yongmyong Temple dating back to Koguryo is made of granite. It well shows the valiant spirit and firm will of the people of Koguryo as it depicts the characteristics of the lion through bold and concise method.There are two sculptures of the stone lion at the Yongmyong Temple. One stands 84.5 centimeters (seen in the picture) and the other is 88 centimeters.
The sculptures of Koguryo are valuable cultural heritance of the Korean nation.
