Warm Love for Rising Generation Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace, an extracurricular education center for schoolchildren is situated in Kwangbok Street in the capital city Pyongyang. In May 2014, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, on a visit to this palace, set forth the task of renovating it, and took all necessary measures to this end. Later, when he visited the renovated palace, he said that the Party had spared nothing for the children as their laughter of today would lead to cheers of victory. Every day, many schoolchildren visit the palace for extracurricular activities. An art troupe of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace toured Primorsky Krai of Russia from May 2 to 12. Russian figures lavished praise on the Korean children’s performance, saying as follows: It is superb. It cannot be expressed otherwise. High artistry, wonderful ensemble and perfect and refined movements can be performed only by Korean children. The performance demonstrated how much importance is given to the education in the DPRK. “Myongsasimni” on the banks of Amnok River Myongsasimni refers to the beautiful sandy beach on the Kalma peninsula, a scenic spot on the East Sea of Korea. It has become more famous as a large-scale coastal tourist area was built there in a distinctive style. Such “Myongsasimni” has also come into being on the banks of the Amnok River. The area consists of several islands in the lower reaches of the river in North Phyongan Province. The area, severely damaged by flood in July last year, has been turned into a wonderful modern rural town in a little more than 130 days. The natural landscape along the river banks and the different types of building groups resemble the Kalma coastal tourist area. The Pride of DPRK: Pyongyang Raengmyon Custom World-famous Pyongyang Raengmyon (Pyongyang cold noodles) is a unique national food favoured by Koreans since olden times. The Pyongyang Raengmyon Custom includes the knowledge and technique related to making the food and the socio-cultural custom practised in the course of making it. Koreans liked to make and eat Pyongyang Raengmyon on various occasions from ancient times, and today, this custom is continued without interruption. They eat Pyongyang Raengmyon on auspicious occasions together with relatives or neighbors, sharing joy and promoting respect, harmony and unity. On the bank of the Taedong River of Pyongyang stands the Okryu Restaurant, well-known to the world for its Pyongyang Raengmyon. Children in the DPRK Celebrates International Children`s Day Children enjoyed the International Children’s Day in all places of the country including the new streets of the capital city and rural villages which have been transformed in magnificent ways befitting the new era of rural development under the benevolences of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Children’s art performances, sports and fun games took place in kindergartens, nurseries, baby homes and orphanages, decorated with such slogans as “We are the Happiest in the World!” and “We are Happy!”, colorful stringed miniature flags, balloons and flowers. The gymnastics and colorful fun games which began to the tune of children’s songs showed the joy of the children who are growing up happily in the socialist country.
