Neoanthropus in Late Paleolithic Age Whose Fossilised Bones Were Discovered in Mt. Sungni is Neolithic man fossil discovered in Tokchon City, South Phyongan Province of Korea.
The fossil is a lower jawbone discovered in a natural cave of Mt. Sungri in Tokchon City, South Phyongan Province in 1972.
This human fossil was revealed in a layer of culture dating back to the latter period of the Paleolithic era. Neoanthropus in late Paleolithic age whose fossilised bones were discovered in Mt. Sungri is recognized as a man at the age of around 35.
Either from the morphological characteristic of the lower jawbone or from the point of view concerning the earth layer the bone was unearthed one could learn that it is the fossil of a human belonging to the Neolithic man.
Neoanthropus in late Paleolithic age whose fossilised bones were discovered in Mt. Sungni shows that Paleolithic man emerged in the territorial area of Korea evolved into a Neolithic man who later formed a Korean, thus enabling to find the latter’s origin.
