Taking Orders Alone Much to Be Desired

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a shop in Pyongyang in April 1967.
At the shop, he inspected its order book.
Reading the list including the names of the residents in charge and the list of orders page by page he asked the manager of the shop whether all the orders of the residents were supplied.
He was quite satisfied to hear the affirmative answer from the manager and said the people would have been quite pleased.
Then talking about a newlywed family, he asked whether the manager had been to the family.
The manager answered him no. Then the Chairman told whisperingly that the manager would not know of whether the family had a bookshelf or not.
In fact, the manager just satisfied with the execution of their orders, but never thought of calling on the families to see what they need more.
The Chairman said to this effect: You mustn’t sit with folded arms satisfied with the execution of the orders of the residents as registered in the list. If you are to provide for the accommodation of the residents in all sincerity, you have to go deep among their life. The commercial workers are obliged to have, so to say, motherly meticulousness, which responsible to the life of the residents.
