Afforestation and Water Conservation are brisk in all parts of Korea to implement the decision of the historic 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the DPRK governments’ policy. As a result, rivers of many areas are being face-lifted.
All the citizens of Pyongyang turned out as one to finish the dredging of the rivers in a short time so as to make the capital city into a more beautiful one.
Hanggu District and Taean District of Nampho, Ryonggang County, Manpho of Jagang Province pushed ahead with river dredging, rebuilding an embankment and pavement of dyke with stones in order to protect farmlands getting through difficulties and obstacles.
Cities and counties of North Hamgyong Province including Hoeryong City and Kilju County whetted the ardor of the masses to carry out the river dredging and pavement of dykes with stones reaching a total of tens of kilometres to completion, taking the province as a whole.
Songnim City and Jangphung County of North Hwanghae Province carried out river dredging reaching hundreds of thousands square metres and face-lifted appearance of the bank of the rivers in order to prevent the flood damage.
Kwail, Anak, Jangyon, Hoeyang and Kosong counties dredged their rivers deeply
