In January 2000, Chairman Kim Jong Il (1942-2011) gave on-the-spot guidance to the Sin Pho Hang Iron Casting Workshop of the Raekwon Machine Complex (then) when the work of pouring molten iron into a mold was in full swing.
The officials asked him to stay away from the dangerous workshop.
But he told the officials to let the workers to continue their work saying that there was nothing dangerous. The work went well.
On that day, he pointed out that an official who does not go to the work site where workers are working in danger has no right to be an official, noting that he was told that the leading officials do not go to the dusty and dangerous working place and the conducts of the officials prove that it was true.
The Chairman indicated the sight-seer style work method and idler-like working style of the officials in a sharp tone of voice.
He stressed that when the officials go down to the working place, they should acquaint themselves with the actual conditions, talking, dining and sleeping with the masses to take measures in consonance with the conditions.
