Political Committee Meeting Turns
to “Meeting of Students’ Parents”
The Political Committee (present Political Bureau) meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea which was held on June 9, 1969, put on its agenda the preparation issue of the new school year.
That day President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994) was reported in detail of the preparation result of the new school year and made clear the solutions for the shortage of schools and teachers and the supply of textbooks of quality paper. He further saw to make sure to set up the preparation committees from provincial to city and county level.
Concluding the meeting, he said appealingly: We are all parents of students. Therefore, you would better think that today’s Political Committee meeting is the same with a meeting of students’ parents. We, parents, gathered together so we are entrusted with the problem solving related to students’ study.
