First Meeting of Sportsmen Following Liberation
October 6, 1946 was a historic day. The President Kim Il Sung was present in the first meeting of sportsmen on that day to elucidate the mission of the Koran sports
He said that the sports of the new democratic Korea ought not to putting up a few champions and, what was worse, making a fun for a few people.
He went on to say to this effect: Our sports have to turn to one of important parts in the construction of the country for the sovereignty and independence and democratic development of Korea. In other words, we have to turn the sports to all-people sports, which trains the people physically and mentally with an aim of training them to heroic builders for founding democratic Korea.
The first meeting of sportsmen held following the liberation, will go down in the history conveying the exploits of the President Kim Il Sung who troubled himself for the development of the Juche-base sports.
