Michon Lake
The Michon Lake is in the Taesong-Dong, Taesong District, Pyongyang. It is between the Jangsu Peak and Jujak Peak of the Mt. Taesong.
It is 0.03 ㎢ and the maximum depth is 9 m.
It was made during the Koguryo time by excavating the bottom of the valley deeply.
It was named after Miichan who is said to have made a great contribution to building the wall in the Koguryo time, and with the long years the name shortened to Michon.
Its source of water is in the atmospheric precipitation and springs.
The lake is a fine resting place of the working people.
It is used as boating-ground in summer and a skating rink in winter.
It is surrounded by promenades, villas, a folk craft show place. There are a swimming pool, playing ground and restaurants down the lake.
