Mother’s Day in DPRK

November 16 is the Mother's Day in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
The happiness of family and future of the nation lie in bringing up children as true human beings and revolutionaries devotedly working for the country and people. It is the DPRK mothers’ noble viewpoint on happiness and future.
Among those mothers are an old woman at Kubong Pass worked as a road administrator for scores of years and led all her children to follow her in the same wake, a woman scientist dedicated her whole life to the development of the nation’s agriculture and a woman together with her husband engaged herself in the afforestation.
General Secretary Kim Jong Un holds the mothers bringing up the future of the country and turning one of the wheels of revolution at the climax of happiness and honor.
General Secretary Kim Jong Un carrying forward the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994) and Chairman Kim Jong Il (1942-2011) who built a country where women are respected, saw to it that November 16 was instituted as Mother’s Day
On the historic day President Kim Il Sung delivered a speech “The Duty of Mothers in the Education of Children” at the First National Meeting of Mothers held in 1961.
General Secretary Kim Jong Un grandly held the Fourth National Meeting of Mothers on the occasion of the first Mother’s Day in 2012 and the participants in the meeting had an honor of taking a souvenir photograph in his presence.
