An event took place in Havana on September 6 to mark the 62^nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Republic of Cuba.

Present there were personages from the Communist Party, the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Prensa Latina News Agency and other units of Cuba, the DPRK ambassador to Cuba and staff members of his embassy.

A vice-minister of Foreign Affairs said that the relations between Cuba and the DPRK were forged by historic leaders Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz and Comrade Kim Il Sung, had been developed by Comrade Raul Castro Ruz and Comrade Kim Jong Il and are developing under the special care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and Comrade Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez..

The deputy head and concurrently coordinator of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba said that as they have done in the past the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Communist Party of Cuba worked hard to develop mutual contact, support and cooperation under the prevailing situation.

He stressed that the traditional bonds of friendship between the two countries will invariably develop into the special comradely relations and disinterested relations despite any hardships. He sincerely wished Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea good health and great success in his noble work for the leadership of the Party, government and people.
