The aged in the DPRK, who are full of energy despite their advanced ages and respected as the revolutionary forerunners under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea, celebrated the International Day of Older Persons with pleasure on October 1.
On the day, performances for the aged and sports amusement games took place in Pyongyang and other parts of the country and public catering and welfare service units offered special service for the old people.
War veterans, merited persons and other aged people in Pyongyang enjoyed a circus performance by artistes of the National Acrobatic Troupe at the Pyongyang Circus Theater.
Sports games took place in various places of the city.
The Okryu Restaurant, the Chongryu Restaurant and other public catering establishments in the city provided old persons with peculiar services.
Meanwhile, the aged people in South Phyongan, South Hwanghae, Jagang, North Hamgyong and South Hamgyong provinces enjoyed amusement games and art performances.
